Design & Publics hosted the first 2 working sessions of their 2023-’24 Data Donation project.
On May 28th, a group of people voluntarily and professionally involved in the Rotterdam Afrikaanderwijk Coöperatie and Vreewijk Coöperatie shared intimate stories on health and well-being related issues. They mapped these stories’ contents and backgrounds on positive health and circular value flower inspired maps, from which we concluded that most participants describe these issues as part of a development process: from a time of stress and concerns to a situation of relative stability in which personal resilience and support of local networks and institutions seem crucial.
On October 12th participants, as well as representatives of VCC and TNO, continued to explore the data needs, sources and strategies to address the following urgencies:
In the coming months, supported by the Resilient Delta Initiative and Designerly Data Donation, participants will engage in data collection, data visualisation and in exploring how a commons-based public data donation practice could work and generate value for them.
